The Dolomites of Primiero

The phenomenon of enrosadira, when the Dolomites take on a pinkish hue at sunset, is a breathtaking spectacle that you must witness at least once in your lifetime.
The Primiero Dolomites are particularly dominated by the Pale di San Martino Group, featuring one of the most striking and tallest peaks, the Cimon de la Pala.

“Skiing in a Picture”
This is the impression that many of our guests have had and the emotion they told us about, upon returning from the ski slopes.
The San Martino ski area, in fact, features this peculiarity: it is smaller in size than the nearby ski areas, but it provides the exclusive charm of skiing, while finding yourself surrounded by magnificent landscapes that seem to be embracing you.

Passo Rolle
Passo Rolle is located at an altitude of 1,984 meters, nestled between the Lagorai mountain range and the northern part of the Pale di San Martino group, dominated by the sharp spire of the Cimon de la Pala. In summer, it serves as a starting point for hiking excursions, such as the Cristo Pensante trail, mountain biking adventures, and climbing. In winter, it transforms into a skier’s paradise, with over 5 months of skiing available with the area’s ski pass.
The breathtaking views from Passo Rolle are so stunning that they are often used as iconic images to represent Trentino!

Pale di San Martino
Here are the Pale di San Martino: 240 km² of rock that turns red in the evening. There is a really wide range of excursions on offer here: more or less challenging trails, vie ferrate, mountaineering routes and multi-day treks that stop at the area's many refuges such as the Rosetta-Pedrotti, Velo della Madonna, Pradidali and Mulaz.
Also, if you don't want to miss the spectacular sight of the second largest glacier in the Dolomites, on the Pale di San Martino Plateau, which can be easily reached by the Colverde/Rosetta cable car, there is the Ghiacciaio della Fradusta (Fradusta Glacier).

Paneveggio Nature Park
The Paneveggio Nature Park covers an area of 190 km² stretching from the Lagorai to the Pale di San Martino and is home to all the typical species of the alpine environment, from marmots to deer to ibex. It is also known as the “forest of violins” because of the particular type of wood of its fir trees.
To learn more about the Park's territory, its fauna and flora, visit the park's visitor center. The nearest one to our hotel is Villa Welsperg, located at the entrance of the Val Canali, open from June 1 to September 30.
